Last week we had the pleasure to welcome ‘Verein Deutscher Ingenieure‘ (VDI) at Pentas Moulding. It was a group of about 35 technical people, all members of the VDI division Harsewinkel.
The VDI is with 155,000 members the largest engineering association in Germany. The association’s main goal is to inspire their members, to share knowledge and form a knowledge network.
Introduction to the rotational molding process of Pentas Moulding.
Under pale sunlight, the group arrived in the morning around ten o’clock per coach in Almelo. After the welcoming speech, while enjoying a cup of coffee with a real Dutch treat; the stroopwafel, the VDI members were given a presentation about rotational molding and the role of Pentas in that process. Also discussed were the advantages and disadvantages of the rotational moulding process and were explained how you can consider all rotational molding parameters during the design phase.
Followed by a tour through the factory. Especially the enthusiasm and interest of the group was noticeable. Despite the diversity of the knowledge in the group, the rotational molding process was for 90% a new subject.
Next stop: Grolsch
During lunch there was a lot of chit-chat about the experience earlier that morning. Around noon, the group left for the Grolsch brewery in Enschede.
The choice to visit Grolsch seems obvious for geographically reasons. Pentas and Grolsch, however, have more in common; the goal for a production process as efficient as possible with a key role for automation
After an exciting digital journey through the history of the beer brand from Twente a brewery tour followed. There is only one option in order to form an opinion about the beer and that is of course to: taste it!
We thank the VDI and its members for the interest in our company and informative day which we shared in a very cozy atmosphere.
