Robots and AI with a human face: Pentas' vision

We envision a factory where robots and humans work side by side. This might sound futuristic, but at Pentas, we've been working daily to realize this vision since 1995. Over the years, one thing has become crystal clear: at Pentas, technology is never meant to replace people, but to support and empower them.

Humans and robots: working together since 1995
Automation is deeply embedded in Pentas’ DNA. Since we started using robots in our post-processing lines in 1995, humans and machines have been working closely together. Robots take on heavy, repetitive tasks like milling, drilling, and lifting. This allows our employees to focus on precision work, quality control, and creative problem-solving. Through this collaboration, we improve both efficiency and quality—without pushing employees aside. On the contrary, they benefit from the support of robots.

At Pentas, the goal of automation is not to reduce staff, but to foster collaboration between our people and robots. Robots at Pentas are true colleagues who support human tasks—not replace them.
AI on the shop floor: our new assistant
Recently, we began the next step in technological support: artificial intelligence (AI). We are currently testing smart camera vision systems that check products in real time against quality requirements and immediately detect errors. We are also working on a digital assistant on the shop floor (currently in the test phase), which guides colleagues via screens with step-by-step instructions and tips. This helps prevent mistakes and creates more time for true craftsmanship and creative solutions.
More space for craftsmanship and human connection
Why are we investing so heavily in robots and AI? To create space for what cannot be automated: craftsmanship and personal interaction. Technology takes care of heavy, repetitive tasks, allowing our employees to focus on collaboration, improvement, and knowledge sharing. This fosters genuine human interaction: discussing challenging projects, celebrating successes, and strengthening personal relationships at work. These are the moments that make our work more enjoyable and valuable.

Technology as a tool, human connection at the center
Even outside Pentas, there is growing recognition that human connections remain essential in the workplace. Technology is just a tool; empathy, creativity, and human contact can never be replaced. Experts like communication specialist Kim Harrison emphasize this as well: “Real human connections remain the most important at work.” At Pentas, we fully share this vision: our technology empowers our people so they can deliver true value.
Future vision: humans and technology hand in hand
We see a future in which humans and technology strengthen one another. The more advanced our technology becomes, the more important our people will be. That’s why we continue to invest in our employees—in their expertise, collaboration, and personal growth. Our ideal workplace is one where technology forms the invisible backbone, and our people thrive in roles only they can fulfill.
In short, Pentas’ vision is clear: technology and people go hand in hand, with people always at the center. Together, we create a workplace where innovation and human connection reinforce each other.
